I grew up down on the South Coast in Dartmouth, MA. I played all the normal childhood sports (football, basketball, baseball), and also raced BMX. I ran my first marathon in 1996 (it was the 100th running), and did my first Sprint Triathlon the next summer. I was hooked!
Over the next 15 years, I ran recreationally, and did quite a few sprint and a couple Olympic triathlons, in various states of fitness and finishing times.
As I approached my 40th Birthday, I decided it was time to get and stay in shape for good. I ran my 2nd marathon at the age of 40 and signed up for my first 70.3, which was Timberman. After several Timberman finishes, and support from my family, I decided to do my first 140.6, which was Beach to Battleship in 2013. As any smart triathlete would, I signed up to do it with the help of Peak Triathlon coaching! After 4 years as a client, I decided to get certified and start coaching athletes myself.
